Learning coaching for children

Astrid Buscher

Graduate Sports Economist, Z-Health Coach, certified instructor for the balance program according to Dorothea Beigel®, author and speaker, Director of the Schlaukopf Institute for Systemic Learning

"We must give our children more room for independent discovery, without shielding them from every challenge and difficulty. For diverse personal experiences are the fertilizer for healthy brain development."

At a time when ADHD, dyslexia, and specific learning disabilities were still unknown, I navigated through school with a few ups and downs. My dyslexia, which I "unfortunately" also passed on to my sons, placed obstacles in my path but also revealed opportunities. Sports, with their diverse movement and sensory stimuli, became both a refuge and a salvation, and my learning difficulties formed the foundation for my structured way of working and holistic thinking today.

Following a childhood and youth shaped by sports, and after a brief detour into the banking world (training as a bank clerk), I completed my degree in Sports Economics at the University of Bayreuth. Since then, I have remained loyal to sports and have found one of my main areas of work in the sensorimotor development of children, completing various advanced training courses in this field.

I am a certified instructor for balance programs according to Dorothea Beigel®, an instructor for the preventive health program "PowerMoves" for fit kids, an instructor for the preschool program "Spielerisch Fit" (Playfully Fit), a Z-Health Movement Specialistfor neurocentric training, and have over 25 years of experience in the international professional training and further education market. I am a mother of two sons who are now adults, Scientific Director of Ludwig Artzt GmbH, and author of various specialist booksand professional articles on the subject of children. At my Schlaukopf Institutefor systemic learning, I work with my partner Gitte Lenz every day with children who have learning difficulties.

Movement has always been a common thread running through my life and presented me with new challenges due to the visual perception disorder and very pronounced dyslexia of our first son. Together, we mastered them with flying colors. Since then, the topic of "learning difficulties and children" has captivated me even more, as I have seen what holistic support can achieve in this area.
