Yes. TheraBands are natural latex products, and their elasticity decreases over time. Their durability depends largely on care and frequency of use. If there is any visible damage, such as tears, holes, etc., you should replace your band immediately.
If you use the TheraBand regularly and frequently, you should usually replace it after about 1 - 2 months.
Please note the consumer information inside.
You shouldn't stretch your TheraBand more than 300%. Therefore, you shouldn't stretch a 2.50 m long band more than 7.50 m.

Latex TheraBands are natural products made from pure latex. The original TheraBands are free of any harmful substances such as plasticizers and the like.
Please note, however, that the latex may cause allergic reactions. This product has been approved by the FDA (American Food and Drug Administration). The material is treated with talc/powder after production and should be maintained regularly with talc/powder during use.
Latex-free TheraBands are made of synthetic rubber, which is also suitable for people with latex allergies. They are easy to clean and do not require subsequent application of talc.
Latex proteins are generally suspected of causing allergies. The substances contained in TheraBand fall below all limits set by the German Institute for Risk Assessment (Institut für Risikobewertung). The band also complies with the MDR (Medical Device Restriction), which is valid throughout the EU.
If you are allergic to latex, you can also find latex-free TheraBands in our shop.
Unlike traditional exercise bands made of natural rubber (latex), latex-free resistance bands are synthetically manufactured polyisoprene resistance bands. These are particularly suitable for allergy sufferers.
In a product test conducted by ÖKO-TEST magazine (issue 01/2020), nitrosatable precursors (also known as nitrosatable substances) were detected in the TheraBand. These can also be produced during the complex manufacturing process (vulcanization) of rubber.
Traces of nitrosamines are also found in foods such as fish, beer, cheese, and cured meats. Tobacco smoke contains high concentrations of nitrosamines.
Other products such as toys, balloons, gloves, and condoms can also contain nitrosamines or nitrosatable substances. Therefore, the legislature has set the pollutant limits for children's toys in the "Toy Directive 2009/48/EC." The limits are 0.05 mg/kg for nitrosamines (not contained in TheraBand) and 1 mg/kg for nitrosatable substances.
ÖKO-TEST provided us with the exact values from the laboratory analysis of the TheraBand exercise band. They found 0.26 mg/kg of nitrosodimethylamine and 1.1 mg/kg of nitrosodibutylamine, both nitrosatable substances.
The test results are within the framework of the EU directive for children's toys that are used for hours and put in the mouth.
The powder on your band is talcum powder (magnesium silicate hydrate), which is also used in cosmetic products such as baby powder.
It is applied to the TheraBand exercise band in small amounts during the manufacturing process to keep the latex supple and prevent the material from sticking.
The substance used in the powder's production, magnesium silicate hydrate, is a type of talc also used in food products and is free of any toxins considered carcinogenic. No asbestos particles were detected in tests.
