More power during training, better recovery during sleep: The new Mouth Tapes by ARTZT neuro

Dornburg, November 19, 2024 – Neurotraining has long been routine for many in elite sports. The goal is to optimize mental and physical abilities. One method gaining increasing importance is so-called mouth taping – the deliberate closing of the mouth to stimulate nasal breathing. The manufacturer of small fitness equipment, ARTZT, is launching two new products for this purpose: the ARTZT neuro Mouth Tape Performance and the ARTZT neuro Mouth Tape Recovery. The tapes are designed to improve endurance and concentration and shorten recovery periods.

What are the benefits of nasal breathing?

Compared to mouth breathing, breathing through the nose offers many advantages. It filters, humidifies, and warms the air, which protects the lungs and facilitates oxygen absorption. At the same time, it helps stabilize the CO₂ level in the body. Carbon dioxide dilates the blood vessels and ensures that oxygen is transported more efficiently to muscles and organs. With rapid mouth breathing, the CO₂ level often drops, signaling the respiratory center to
Breathe more frequently – this can lead to shallow, hectic breathing and a feeling of shortness of breath. Nasal breathing also calms the nervous system and promotes focus and mental strength – this is especially valuable during demanding training phases and competitions.

Two models for individual requirements

To specifically promote nasal breathing, Ludwig ARTZT GmbH is introducing two new mouth tapes under its ARTZT neuro brand: the Mouth Tape Performance and the Mouth Tape Recovery. These special patches gently close the mouth and encourage breathing through the nose – both during exercise and at rest. Both versions are tailored to specific needs.

More performance through nasal breathing

The Performance Tape is suitable for light to intense training sessions, depending on your training level. It supports slower, deeper breathing, which lowers your respiratory rate and stabilizes your heart rate, making exercise more manageable. Conscious nasal breathing also allows more nitric oxide to reach the respiratory tract, which dilates the blood vessels and optimizes oxygen transport to the cells – an effect that increases endurance. With regular use, athletes become accustomed to the
Controlled breathing. In the long term, this not only increases physical performance and concentration, but also delays signs of fatigue.

Faster recovery and deeper sleep

The Recovery model is specially designed for a gentle introduction to nasal breathing and to promote recovery phases. Calm nasal breathing activates the vagus nerve and stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system, which is responsible for relaxation and stress reduction. During sleep, the tape supports regular breathing, which keeps the mucous membranes moist and relieves congestion in the airways. This maintains a constant oxygen supply, allowing the body to achieve deeper, more restful sleep phases. Athletes benefit from improved regeneration.

Application and availability

The patches are simply applied horizontally over closed lips. Both versions are available in two colors and cost €14.95 per pack of 30.
